A road trip out of Sapporo, and further away from Otaru, we decided to stop by Yoichi Town. A tranquil town, peaceful and has a few interesting site. One of which is this cave, founded in 1950. As photos are prohibited inside, there is nothing much that I can show here and you have to visit it for your own curiosity.
This place is a small cave site with engravings. It’s about 5 meters wide and 6 meters deep, with fish, animals and bone cravings. And becoz the bone cravings are like winged man, this naturally became a famous cultural icon in Hokkaido.

The cave opening is well protected in a glass enclosure in the museum. After entering, we can see the engravings clearly in a controlled environment. When we are outside the cave, we can see that the cave opening is entirely covered by the museum.
