Great Ocean Road is the go-to destination in Melbourne for travellers who like to drive! Rent a car and enjoy the sea breeze and relaxing sound of the waves. There are places along the Great Ocean Road that make a good stop and for a quick photo shutter.
The roads are winding and do take note of the speed limit from roads to roads.
Another thing to note is that when there’re road works, the road becomes a shared lane. Hence do not ignore the make-shift traffic light!
Here are things you can see at Great Ocean Road!
12 Apostles
Park at the Twelve Apostles car park and walk to the viewing deck. Check out the cool view of the limestones and enjoy the coastal breeze.
When you are done, take a short walk to Gibsons Steps. It is just minutes away.

Where to stay?
It depends on how long you would like to stay in Great Ocean Road. I would recommend that you might like to stay on the different parts of the coastal road to fully enjoy it.
I’ve opted to stay in Torquay which is like the start of Great Ocean Road. This location is convenient and just a few minutes drive out, there’re eateries.
Torquay 1903 Period Cottages
This is a great bed and breakfast place. It’s quiet and has a nice private parking space for guests.
